Frank Langella double billFrank Langella is a Hollywood icon. Having graced our screens in 'All Good Things', 'The Caller', and 'Good Night, and Good Luck', his versatility and talent far surpasses most of his cinematic colleagues. In an homage to the great man himself, Riverside has set up a double feature event of two of the greatest movies of his career.
The first film, 'Robot and Frank', won the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Set in the near future, Frank (Langella) is a retired cat burglar whose children feel is not capable of living on his own. Rather than place him in a nursing home, Frank's son buys him a walking, talking robot. What follows is a heart-warming and hilarious story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places.
Switching it up for the second round, the brilliant film 'Frost/Nixon', which won Langella an Oscar nomination in 2008, is a riveting and tense drama that reenacts the historical television interview between Richard Nixon and David Frost. Following his forced resignation, Nixon spent three years as a recluse, hiding away from the public eye. In the summer of 1977, he surprised everyone by agreeing to a one off all-inclusive interview with the breezy chat show host, David Frost.
'Funny, thoughtful and smart.'
