Watch part one of the soon-to-be trilogy + main meal includedNominated for three BAFTAs including ‘Best Sound’, The Hobbit is just the latest in Peter Jackson’s J R R Tolkien-obsessed line of films. As they always are, it’s an epic tale about a curious Hobbit, this time Bilbo Baggins. Acting as a prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy and set to be a trilogy itself (stretched into three movies from one book), Bilbo and his friends go on a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. It’s visually stunning and will leave you wanting more (good thing there’s more to come soon!).
‘You don't need to be a Tolkien devotee who knows their orcs from their elvish to enjoy the movie, and it's generally less irritating than the book, with none of the archness Tolkien adopts when addressing children.’ - The Guardian.
