Moh! Kouyaté is inspired equally by Jimi Hendrix, George Benson and Bembeya Jazz – three legendary players – and Moh certainly lives up to them. His band come out sounding like an African version of The Clash, with emotion and power fuelled by incredible playing. Born in Guinea and settled in Paris, his new album Loundo (One Day) is packed full of rich, lyrical songs. His collaborations include work with kora-player Ba Cissoko and a US tour with bluesman Corey Harris, and has recorded with Fatoumata Diawara.
