Shuffle Film Festival: The Godfather Part II + Shuffle Short Film Finalists
Keep your friends close, but great films closer
Shuffle Festival is an annual event which aims to build a more integrated community presence through art, comedy, music, food and film. Taking place in the The Horse Chestnut, tonight’s film screening is of the winner of six academy awards including Best Picture Of the Year, The Godfather Part II. Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 landmark film parallels the early life and career of Vito Corleone (Robert De Niro) in 20s New York with the spiritual downfall of his son, Michael (Al Pacino), as he expands and tightens his grip on his crime syndicate. Expect violence, betrayal and a lot of memorable quotes. The film will be followed by a selection of the Shuffle Short Film finalists. "A tale of loss, grief and absolute loneliness, an unflinching stare into the darkest moral abyss." – Time Out "Francis Coppola's breathtakingly ambitious prequel-sequel to his first Godfather movie is as gripping as ever." – The Guardian Certificate: 18. Valid ID required. Runtime: 3 hours 20 minutes.
"Breathtaking in its scope, scale, and tragic grandeur."
