The next level in tours at London’s rare gin distilleriesThere are so many noteworthy things about Sipsmith, not the least of which is being the first distillery in London to get a license in nearly 200 years. Yep, you read that right. It’s also worth noting that there are only two actual distilleries operating in London currently. Oh, and the founders are spirits experts with previous experience at Fuller’s and Diageo. Sipsmith also strictly adheres to distilling traditions and fun fact, the water they blend with their spirits comes straight from the source where the Thames starts. It’s the epitome of what the independent spirit craft should look like. Colour us impressed.
The tour starts with a drink (which can be topped up throughout the evening, naturally), you’ll be regaled with a brief synopsis of Sipsmith and the history of gin in London, meet Prudence the gorgeous 300 litre copper still, and enjoy a tutored tasting of multiple spirits. It’s the refined drinker’s bliss.
