The Boys In The Band

“Life’s a goddam laugh riot!”

Mark Gatiss stars in this strictly limited West End transfer of the first major revival of this iconic play in two decades. Razor sharp and packed with wit, The Boys in the Band is fresh, startling and brilliantly entertaining. Nine men gather in a New York apartment for a birthday celebration. Harold (Gatiss), a self-avowed "pock-marked, Jew fairy", receives a surprise gift: a beautiful male hustler, and party host Michael (Ian Hallard) gets an unwanted surprise of his own in the shape of a figure from his past. As the booze is drunk and the dope smoked, the mood swings from hilarity to heart-break. The Boys in the Band premiered in 1968 just before the Stonewall riots. It was adapted into a film in 1970 and was last revived in New York in 2010. This UK revival will mark almost 20 years since the last West End production. Olivier Award winner Mark Gatiss stars alongside Daniel Boys, Jack Derges, Ian Hallard, James Holmes, John Hopkins, Ben Mansfield, Greg Lockett and Nathan Nolan in a production directed by Adam Penford, the Artistic Director Designate of Nottingham Playhouse. Suitable for mature (age 14+) audiences only, due to strong language and mature themes. Runtime: TBC. All ticket prices for The Boys In The Band are inclusive of booking fees: YPlan will not charge you any additional amounts for your tickets. When booking tickets, you can pick your seat from the seatmap once you've selected a date. For your comfort and security, you may be subject to additional checks on your visit to London theatres. Your patience and understanding is appreciated while these take place. Valid ID required for ticket collection. West End theatre ticket sales are final and bookings cannot be amended, exchanged or refunded (unless of course the performance is cancelled). All listed offers are subject to availability and can be withdrawn at any time.
