The fascinating history of funerals through the ages
If you're after some high culture, and a real interesting talk then this is the night out for you. Based on his seminal book The English Way Of Death: The Common Funeral From 1450, leading funerary historian Dr Julian Litten will trace the history of the English funeral from the pomp and panoply of the post-medieval to the clinical anonymity of present-day ceremonies. Guests can enjoy a free drink on arrival and an after-hours visit to the exhibition Death And Memory: Soane And The Architecture Of Legacy.
The exhibition can be viewed from 6pm, with the talk beginning at 7pm. Valid ID required for wine.
