Films, food and flippin' great fun at London's smallest independent cinema
The Exhibit is London's smallest independent cinema. But, for what it lacks in size, it sure as hell makes up for in heart. With an intimate atmosphere, leather sofa seating and attached bar with garden, it really does offer the perfect silver screen experience. Choose a flick from their programme of the best contemporary and classic films, kickback in a sofa, and get ready to fall in love with cinema all over again. For this screening, witness a dramatic tour de force in Grandma. Lily Tomlin stars as Elle, who has just broken up with her girlfriend when her granddaughter Sage shows up on her doorstep in need of money. Touching, off-beat and funny, this is an underrated contemporary classic. "A sublime match of performer and role." – Hollywood Reporter "With not a wasted frame in its taut 80 minutes, this is deserving of your attention as one of the year's best movies even if it's being released in the middle of August." – New York Post Sample menu: - Roast pollock and grilled tiger prawn, sautéed potatoes with chili and caper sauce - Pork belly, sweet and sour beetroot with soy glaze and wilted spinach - Truffle chicken burger, cheese, crispy onion, truffle mayonnaise and chips - Curry goat, rice and peas with coleslaw - Exhibit burger with relish, cheese and chips - Ribeye steak with garlic butter and fries (£7 supplement) - Charred harissa cauliflower, feta, pickled onions and chickpeas (v) Certificate: 15. Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes. The Exhibit Cinema is an over 21s only cinema. Valid ID required. Please arrive at least an hour and a half before the film starts to allow enough time for the dinner. If you have purchased a ticket with inclusive food, these items are only redeemable on the day of the screening for which you are booked and cannot be carried over to another date. The menu is subject to change. Please arrive on time as latecomers may not be admitted and will not be offered refunds. Seating in the cinema is unallocated and works on a first come first served basis. The Exhibit Cinema does not show trailers so aim to start all films at the advertised screening time.
"Weitz, in a script clearly written for Tomlin, has given her the best role of her career - and she runs with it."
