It was only a matter of time until The Go-Between made it to the West End. Having turned heads at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Royal And Derngate and Derby Live, it received the Best Musical Production at the Theatre Awards UK. Now, it's making its way to the Apollo Theatre stage, complete with a new score and Michael Crawford in the cast. Adapted from L P Hartley's 1953 novel, it tells the story of the ageing Leo Colston. Leo unintentionally unlocks memories of his past, with a particular focus on one long, hot summer. Holidaying with a friend, he becomes entwined in the illicit affair between the upper-class Miriam and the farmer Ted, being their go-between. The impact this had on him, shaped his life more than he ever realised. Named for the Greek god of the arts and leader of the muses, The Apollo Theatre first opened its doors in February 1901 and was designed as a venue for musical entertainment. Located on Shaftesbury Avenue, it's one of the most striking buildings of the West End's fleet.
