Rhythm and booze"Woodshedding" is a musician's term meaning "going off to practice." It's typically used by jazz musicians to suggest a devotion to getting it right. Everybody at Smitty's spends significant time in "the shed", so Kansas Smitty's thought it would be the perfect name for their new weekly Thursday night concerts.
Each week they invite guests and friends from across the musical landscape into "The Shed". With Smitty's creative direction, they'll work on new material and collaborate with new artists to perform a specially curated and arranged set.
Here's the story – friend and neighbour Jay Darwish (who also happens to be a killer bass player) was telling in passing (at Climpsons) that he'd been working on this duo with blues singer Macus Bonfanti. So of course they had to invite them down to The Shed asap. Think Joe Cocker meets Lead Belly in a basement on Broadway Market.
Over 18s only. Valid ID required. The bar will be open from 6pm as usual with the concert starting at 9pm.
