The Yawns + Old Men + The Brownstein

This could be the next big Scottish band

The Yawns are fairly under the radar, so to speak. Their album on Bandcamp is a steal at £3 and we could easily see some people saying it bears resemblances to The Pastels or perhaps early Camera Obscura, maybe even Girls or The Pixies. Treading in such heavy-influenced waters sounds scary, but that’s really where the comparisons end. The Yawns burst through with their own personality, so much so that Records Records Records pressed 100 copies of the album on vinyl just for the hell of it. Or according to them, ‘because this album deserves to be on vinyl’. In support will be Old Men (previously opened for Bloc Party at Earls Court), and Wet Paint drummer Melinda’s solo project, The Brownstein. ‘The Yawns know exactly how to construct and nail a great pop song.’ - Gold Flake Paint. General admission. Over 18s only please. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis. We need your card details to store the event information in 'My Tickets', but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
