The old County Hall library is known as one of the most stunning rooms in London…but it’s also in an ideal spot: looking out across the River Thames to Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower for you pedants). It's a beautiful place to eat heartily, but it's also worth remembering that it’s right next to Gillray's bar, which stocks over 70 gins and spirits – ammunition for some fabulous cocktails. Following your glorious three-course meal, you could always take residence in there for the remainder of the evening.
Some highlights from the menu:
– brown Dorset crab, soldiers, and an apple and radish salad
– red wine poached turbot with creamed potatoes, wild mushrooms and butternut squash
– roasted butternut and ash rosary goats cheese, spelt risotto, crisp onion rings, and watercress
Best available seating allocated on arrival. Vegetarian options available.
