Vault Festival 2016: Denim
A night of intergalactic comedy cabaret
London's biggest arts festival is returning: make your way underground for six weeks of creativity, innovation and chaos at Vault Festival. With more than 100 different shows spread across eight incredible venues, you're not going to find anything else like it above or below ground any time soon. In a galaxy far far away, the Denim Queens voyage to where no drag queen has voyaged before: with the destruction of their haunts all around the world, the earth has become inhospitable for the Denim Queens and their non-conformist pals. There is no other alternative. To achieve interstellar travel and find a new planet to call their home. Witness five drag queens try to achieve the impossible: through a repertoire of sketch comedy, stand-up and live music orchestrated with a full jazz band prepare yourself for a journey with the Denims - in space. The troupe is led by five singers and actors, who are accompanied by a live big band and regular guest performers; recently, this has included the phenomenal Florence Welch. Denim invite the audience to revel in the liberation of their performances: an eclectic variety of songs interspersed with comic sketches which make up the narrative of the show. Show takes place in the Forge space. Running time is approx 75 minutes.
"A vibrant, varied programme…a brilliant place to spot new talent.”
