Waste Land Screening With Q+A

A load of old rubbish

Waste Land follows Brazilian artist and photographer Vik Muniz on a journey from Brooklyn back to the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. He's exploring the world's biggest garbage dump and the life of catadores - people who scavenge the heaps for recyclable materials. The documentary sees them recreate their portraits out of scrap, and in turn reimagine their lives. After the screening there's a Q&A with Catlin Art Prize winner Russell Hill who makes awesome art out of found objects. Scrap your other plans and come to this instead. Certificate 12A.
