A modern-day adaptation of the iconic fairy tale
This is a new musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's iconic Alice in Wonderland, by Damon Albarn and Moira Buffini. 12-year old Aly seeks to find comfort in an online world where she won't be bullied and has absolute control. But some of the people she meets – the weird Dum and Dee, the creepy Cheshire Cat, the terrifying Red Queen – seem strangely familiar. What happens when the thin line between reality and Wonder.land start to blur? The Olivier − named after Laurence Olivier, the first director of the National Theatre (during its years at the Old Vic) and the outstanding British actor of the 20th Century − is the largest of the three theatres at the National. In spite of its size, the Olivier has a concentrated intimacy. No seat is far from an actor's point of command, and the span of the seats matches their effective span of vision. "A bold and ambitious reimagining of Alice In Wonderland for the online age." – The Guardian "Wonder.land is the best — and oddest — new British musical for families in a long while, and should prove irresistible to those who can locate their inner teen." – The Sunday Times "The direction, by Rufus Norris, is slick, imaginative and pacey." – The Independent Recommended for ages 10 and up. Runtime: 2 hours 40 mins. Tickets for Wonder.land are inclusive of booking fees. If booking multiple tickets please make sure to book from one account at the same time if you want to be seated together; you will be allocated the best available seats in the selected seating area. For your comfort and security, you may be subject to additional checks on your visit to London theatres. Your patience and understanding is appreciated while these take place. Valid ID required for ticket collection. West End theatre ticket sales are final and bookings cannot be amended, exchanged or refunded (unless of course the performance is cancelled).
