World-renowned club gets a classical makeover
Yellow Lounge delves into the neo-classical scene, bringing the brightest talent to pop-up venues. Tonight, they take over Fabric with the loops and edgy beats of Ólafur Arnalds. He crosses between genres, influenced by ambience, minimalism, and electronic sounds. His album For Now I Am Winter is full of depth, moving between light and darkness to create reverberating soundscapes. If you watched Broadchurch (starring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman), you'll already know his stirring sounds, as he wrote the main theme and score throughout. Sitar player Anoushka Shankar supports him, drawing on traditional Indian techniques and classical influences to create something special. General admission, usually £10 plus £1 booking fee. Over 18s only. Doors open 7pm.
"Ólafur envelops you in a soundscape that is nothing less than stunning."
