The London-based musician grew up listening to the sounds of jazz and later blues and soul. This helped Clare establish his sound almost organically and helped catch the attention of top producers Diplo and Switch. His demo turned into a full album and peaked at number four on UK Singles Chart. Clare's knack for songwriting even helped him snag the Songwriters of the Year award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers alongside Jim Duguid.
