Cuban pop from Nelly Furtado’s songwriter
Don’t let Alex Cuba’s current British Columbia locale fool you, he’s a Cuban native through and through. Since relocating over a decade ago, he’s leant his rhythmic Afro-Cuban expertise to the music of Nelly Furtado and Jason Mraz. As a solo artist, Cuba rejects any musical boundaries and his particular blend of traditional Latin grooves and pop fusion is striking. All it took was one listen and we were hooked. Reserved barstool seating. Please note that conversation during the show is strongly discouraged. Seating is pre-assigned and family style, but sight lines are clear and sound is excellent. There is a full menu and bar available for extra cost. Seating type is subject to change without notice.
"In his music, you can hear how he's blended his father's musical influence – and stories from the Cuban countryside – with a touch of '70s soul.."
