A George Orwell favorite
A Standard Bear and Byronic Women production, this stage run of George Bernard Shaw’s classic novel keeps all the same hilarious satire and relatable themes. Sure, it’s set in 1885 during the Serbo-Bulgarian War, but the charm and irony is so 2013. Will the young lady choose to wait for her arrogant fiancé to return from war, or let herself become smitten with the simple deserter she happens to meet? It's the heart vs the mind, but isn’t love idealistic anyway?
