Asphalt Orchestra Plays The Pixies: Surfer Rosa
The street band plays the groundbreaking album for its 25th anniversary
Has it really been 25 years since the dulcet tones of The Pixies’ Surfer Rosa graced our soundwaves? The day is practically a holiday in the alt rock world and in order to properly pay tribute, Brooklyn-based avant-garde band Asphalt Orchestra are drumming up an inventive take on the game-changing album. Every song will be ace, but we’re especially stoked to hear "Where Is My Mind," brass-style of course. General admission. This event is all ages."Though the roving ensemble is rich in saxophones, trombones, and over-the-shoulder drums…this is no amateur horn-blowing society."
