Special screening of the horror flick that turned the genre on its head
Throne Watches are a watch, watch-strap, and leather goods manufacturer in Brooklyn. BK Horror Club are a bunch interested in one thing: horror flicks. The unlikely pairing have teamed forces to deliver to the public a monthly horror movie screening. BK will be picking the flicks while Throne Watches will be providing a place to kickback and watch them. For this screening, catch the horror movie that left a trail of heated discussion and critical acclaim in its wake. The story follows five friends that take a trip to a remote cabin in the woods. Typical start to a horror film right? Guess again. Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon's script subverts the horror genre as you know it. In a genre embattled by worn-out cliches and rehashed storylines, this is a breath of fresh air that doesn't sacrifice on suspense. "One of the best movies of 2012 so far, in any genre." – CNN "By the time the ride is over, director Drew Goddard and co-writers Goddard and Joss Whedon will change course three or four times, nodding and winking but never losing momentum." – San Francisco Chronicle Rating: R. Runtime: 1 hour 35 minutes. Popcorn and beer will be available at each screening. As seating is first-come-first-serve, guests are encouraged to bring their own blanket, cushion or lawn chair so that they can enjoy the movie more comfortably.
"It works thrillingly for audiences, especially the pointy-headed kind who have been trained to predict the outcomes of every week's slasher."
