A woman’s journey from cockpit to cradle

"George Brant's solo play Grounded, which centers on a F16 fighter pilot whose unexpected pregnancy changes the course of her military career, has been named the 2012 winner of the Smith Prize."

- Playbill
Between the rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Fest and the relevant subject matter (drones, war), Grounded is a modern play par excellence: moving, daring, and a little dark. It follows an American woman and soon to be mom who is used to flying solo as a fighter pilot until a change of plans leads to her drone operator job. A wife and mom, she shuffles between her home stateside and the war-torn areas she targets. In short, it’s drama like you’ve never seen it. Translation? It’s gonna be one hot ticket. General admission. Please arrive on time.
