Jayme Stone’s Lomax Project
The banjo virtuoso honors folk pioneer Alan Lomax
Without a doubt, Jayme Stone knows how to strum some pretty serious banjo game. His songs are mostly rooted in world music, which is why he’s getting together other artists like Bruce Molsky, Margaret Glaspy, and Julian Lage to collaborate on a project inspired by the work of global field recording maverick Alan Lomax. The folk super group will reimagine traditional music like Bahamian sea chants, African-American a cappella, and even ancient Appalachian ballads. Stoked. General admission.
"The Yo-Yo Ma of the banjo."
