‘40s era jazz in an elegant 19th-century Brooklyn brownstone
Debbie McClain is the proprietor of Sankofa Aban Bed & Breakfast, a Bed-Stuy brownstone turned underground jazz salon. Curated in conjunction with musician Eric Lemon, the night offers a rare chance to experience jazz in its purest form – classic, acoustic, and among friends in a comfortable, elegant setting. It’s the closest we can get to the days when Miles Davis, Max Roach, and Hank Mobley would plays sets into the wee hours of the morning around Bed-Stuy’s 20 or so off-the-radar music clubs.
Bonus: Save room for Debbie’s famous fish fry during intermission. It’s out of this world.
Reserved seating. Over 21s only.
