Tunes from the bona-fide saxophonist + his band
This city’s full of jazz musicians jostling for the top spot, but few have the charm and verve of Aaron Irwin. His reworkings of old classics, forays into original material, and all around groovy multi-woodwind skills will bring out anyone’s inner jazz geek. His 2006 debut album was even heralded as on of the best 10 in its genre by The New Yorker. No surprise there. Throw in trombonist Matthew McDonald and guitarist Pete McCann, and it’s shaping up to be one helluva evening. General admission. This event is free, but entry is guaranteed. We need your card details to store the event information in "My Tickets," but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
"Irwin is a lyrical alto saxophonist and a compelling original composer, as well as a canny bandleader."
