Poetry readings come to life in the bordelloYup, the Poetry Brothel is exactly what you think it is. In this world of vice and verse, poets play whores and the intimacy of the boudoir is swapped for that of a poem. Among the speakeasy’s most coveted courtesans? Award-winning author and New School professor Jennifer Michael Hecht. The saloon's also got live tunes from Jason Prover and The Sneak Thievery Orchestra, vaudeville, fortune tellers, and burlesque. And because Mardi Gras is just around the corner, complementary St. George gin, absinthe, and whiskey will be served between 8pm-9pm. It’s the magic that Montmartre was once made of.
