Inspirational music from Beethoven and Shostakovich
For this year's Memorial Day Concert, New York Philharmonic have chosen two inspired works. Beethoven's Egmont Overture, composed during the Napoleonic Wars, heralds heroism and gallantry. Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, meanwhile, was written as an angry response to Stalin's regime. Powerful pieces for a memorable occasion.
Tickets are required and will be distributed at 6pm on the evening of the concert. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed. We need your card details to store the event information in your profile, but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
