The 3rd installment from Ulrich Seidl’s award-winning trilogy
All we want for Christmas is to see a really good film. Thanks to Ulrich Seidl, our wish might just come true. The third installment in his Paradise trilogy, Paradise: Hope, follows a teenage girl who is swiftly banished to weight loss camp. The growing pains storyline sounds like it was pulled directly from a Judy Blume book, but don’t cast it off just yet. Seidl examines adolescent trials and tribulations in a way that is as eye-opening as it is realistic…making it a rare gem in the world of cinema. General admission. This film is not appropriate for small children.
"Instead of being contemptuous and sardonic, the portrait of inchoate adolescent longing in Paradise: Hope is poignant."
