Cruise the stately mansion’s impressive collection of paintings + moreThere’s a reason the Frick is touted as a cozy alternative to the big Manhattan behemoths. All neo-classical panels, tapestries, and masterpieces from the Renaissance to the turn of the 19th century, the mansion isn’t subtle about its flamboyant past. The collection was amassed by the OG of livin’ large (robber baron Henry Clay Frick), and on Sundays you can saunter through the palatial interiors for a whatever you wish donation. From elaborate paintings (from the likes of Van Dyck, Velázquez, Degas, Goya) to baroque bronze sculptures, here’s the place to scout it all out. Art lovers, go wild.
Fair warning: there will be a lot of foot traffic, so we suggest getting there early to beat the crowds.
