The musician's solo venture proves to be a revelation
Trading in his sunny SoCal life for the often windowless confines of Manhattan’s concrete jungle, voice actor and member of Foxygen, Shaun Fleming, found his solo groove cooped up in his tiny apartment. In just two weeks time, Fleming recorded his debut LP under the moniker Diane Coffee using a pseudo drum kit, a broken cymbal, a metal pot, and an iPhone. The results? Fresh, soulful compositions rooted in space rock. White Hinterland and Isadora round out the bill. General admission. Over 21s only. General admission. Over 21s only.
"Fleming proves to be a deft hand at bringing soul and R&B traditions to life alongside pop and rock structures."
