Sweet jams from local lo-fi siblings
Island Twins are relatively new to the garage pop scene, but the Queens-based trio has hit the ground running since their start back in 2011. It also helps that two of its members have been rockin’ out to the same tunes since their diaper days. Seamlessly blending inspiration from rock, punk, metal, and pop into an eclectic mash sung with a charmingly reckless abandon, Island Twins are the perfect fuzzed out pop trio we’ve been looking for. Additional jams provided by Tape Waves and Beach Arabs, now, bring on the reverb. General admission. Over 21s only.
"The track hears Island Twins exude the same controlled nonchalance of bands like Pavement and Neutral Milk Hotel, all while keeping their feet firmly-grounded in a charmingly power pop sound."
