Sunday Listening Session: Mike Kelley’s Music
Get an exclusive listen of the prolific artist’s unreleased music
Mike Kelley is widely considered one of the most relevant and influential American artists of the past century. Boasting a mind-boggling array of work, Kelley’s experimented with virtually every conceivable medium ranging from large-scale multi-media, found objects, collage, drawing, and even plushy stuffed animals. Oh, let’s not forget his art-punk days in the band, Destroy All Monsters. In conjunction with his MoMA PS1 exhibit, the dome outside will be having a listening party examining both his released and unreleased body of musical projects. General admission. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can’t be guaranteed. He was a founder of the legendary Detroit group Destroy All Monsters, a group that everyone heard about but few people actually heard."
