Timeless teen movie screened on the lawn
Since launching in 2000, Brooklyn Bridge Park has been the perfect setting for Syfy Movies With A View. What view, you may ask? The sprawling Manhattan skyline just across the river that is. What with a perfect breeze from the East River, over 340,000 moviegoers, and the breathtaking skyline, Thursday nights have become a favorite among New Yorkers for all the right reasons. Tonight it's the '70s, it's Texas and it's the last day of high school. This can only mean one thing: Richard Linklater’s coming-of-age cult classic, Dazed and Confused. Featuring an excellent cast and a killer soundtrack, Dazed And Confused is a funny, affectionate and clear-eyed look at high school life. No Wahala DJs and short film Chronemics will start the evening before Dazed and Confused hits it out the park. "Seriously funny, and shorn of any hint of nostalgia," – Time Out "Richard Linklater's film nails mid-'70s adolescence so precisely that you'll need Clearasil by the end credits." – Entertainment Weekly Rating: R. Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes. DJs start at 6pm and movie starts at sundown. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed. You need to be registered to store the event information in your profile, but rest assured, we won’t charge you a penny.
"Loud, crude, socially irresponsible and totally irresistible."
