Mike Albo hilariously exposes the life of a freelance writer
Some of you may have heard of Mike Albo and his controversial split from the New York Times. Working as a freelancer, he went on a swanky all expenses paid press junket to Jamaica that raised some eyebrows and consequently got him unfairly canned. No sweat off Albo’s back; he went on to write this witty play (loosely based on the incident) that documents NYC’s harsh media industry and gives some pointers on how to bite back... because c'mon, what’s journalism without the swag? Pro tip: enjoy your favorite cocktails before, during, and after the show at Dixon Place Theatre. Best available seating allocated by the venue on arrival. Please arrive 15 minutes before show begins.
"Albo - a really funny writer, sometimes for New York - is doing just six performances of The Junket, his eviscerating, hilarious thinly veiled roman à clef about the freelance-writing life."
