The power of the spoken word meets the power of absinthe
The Poetry Society of New York is back for a new season of spoken word. The venue may look like a fin de siècle brothel, but the only vice to be found is at the one-hour absinthe open bar. That should be more than enough to warm the soul, paving the way for the poets to have their say. Author Cynthia Cruz is the special guest, but there’ll also be live music, burlesque performances, vaudeville, and fortune tellers. Poetry and burlesque were meant to be together. It's a divine marriage consummated in a brothel.
Over 21s only. The Back Room has a strict no fur policy.
