Giving James Dean a run for his money
He's no James Dean but he's definitely a rebel with a cause. He's Sal Mineo, the star behind the cult favorite Rebel Without a Cause as Plato, James Dean's sidekick. He was a gold-record selling pop singer and a trailblazing figure for the gay rights movement before he was tragically murdered at age 37 when his career began to flourish once more. Writer-actor Dean Ghaffari brings Mineo's short life to the stage, portraying his potentials and passion for equal civil and social rights.
