There Is A Happiness That Morning Is
William Blake meets rhymed verses and public sex
After a successful three year run in Chicago, Theater Oobleck is in New York to tell the hit comedy in rhymed verse. There Is A Happiness That Morning Is is told via two lectures on poetry about the famed poet William Blake. The morning sees middle-aged Bernard, a barely published poet on a scant scholarship and the afternoon by his lover, Ellen who holds a reputable Ph.D. After engaging in some risqué PDA on their campus, they must either apologize or justify their behavior in front of the class or face losing their jobs.
“Goosed by precise, masterful performances, Maher's text is almost endlessly engaging and frequently hilarious.”
