A stunning opera-theatre work inspired by an iconic women’s rights leader

"Strikingly original."

- The New York Times (on artist Kamala Sankaram)
High time that the incredible tale of Mukhtaran Bibi was told through music. The brave Pakistani gang rape victim first made headlines by taking her attackers to court rather than committing suicide as national tradition decreed. Since then, she has opened a girls school and women’s crisis center, and thanks to artist Kamala Sankaram (and an original score of European opera and classic South Asian vocals) we’re thinking the women’s rights advocate will get a performance worthy of her story. General admission.
