But there’s much more, too. With this three-hour walking tour, you’ll get the expert’s take on all those hidden gems you need to discover. But it’s not just about the food and drink, this exploration will grant you a fascinating insight into the history and culture of the area, too.
The itinerary
You’ll start your experience at Tower Bridge, strolling past the old warehouses and factories now converted into high-end apartments, before landing in Maltby Street Market. It’s here you’ll be able to try delicious Ethiopian food from Amen, washed down with a G&T from Jensen's distillery. From there, you can explore some of Bermondsey’s best fresh pasta – made right before your eyes by the chefs at Flour & Grape. After that, you’ll head to Borough Market to indulge in an oyster-filled feast from Richard Howard's Oyster Bar (who have been cultivating oysters for nearly 300 years) followed by cheese from Drunk Cheese and succulent dates with a twist from the Sultan. He has infused his dates with many different types of fillings; even Mo Farah frequents his stall.
