Why go?

You can’t go too far wrong when it comes to the Menier Chocolate Factory – they know a thing or two about bringing high quality productions to town. Here they’ve done it again, bringing a not-hugely-well-known Tennessee Williams play and teaming it with a top notch cast that works its magic on the text. It’s loosely based on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice but takes that ancient tale and plants it straight in the Deep South, along with drifters, troubled matriarchs, grotesque patriarchs, booze, pills and illicit sex. Classic Williams, then.
