For their first indie show of the year back at The 229 Club, promoters Absent Kelly are really pulling out all the stops and have found five fantastic acts from all corners of the country Topping the bill is Playroom. Acting as the local contingent for the evening, this London based quartet draw upon numerous influences to create their sound. On the face of it, Playroom are just an Indie Rock band, but delve a little deeper and you can here elements of heavy grunge and a touch of folk, reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, amongst many other elements. The band have already been showing what they’re made of at famed grass roots venues the Underbelly, the Good Ship and the Dublin Castle and are currently in the studio to record, to spread their music even further.
