Absent Kelly return to Soho’s Alleycat for 2016 and are starting things in style with a bill of awesome indie from all around the UK. Their celebrating the birthday of their resident DJ, Codename Sparrow too, who'll be spinning some of his personal favourites to see you through ‘til the early hours after all the music. Topping the bill is Smashing Lights. An East London quartet, The Smashing Lights dub themselves as Electronic GuitaR&B, whose '80s feel is infectious as hell. Despite only playing their first gig together in the summer of 2015, the band already have an incredibly strong and accomplished sound and this sound has already gained them slots on some of the Capital’s best grass roots venues, including the Workshop and the New Cross Inn. Expect much bigger things for the band in 2016, especially if they’re debut single, “Sounds Different, Feels the Same” is anything to go by.
