These introductory sessions are ideal for beginners wanting to get a feel for printing on the Adana 8x5 printing press. During the two-hour session you will learn how to print a small collection of cards, and discover the beautifully tactile feel that only comes from letterpress. You will be working with the classic table top press to print your own greeting cards, post cards, gift tags and grey board business cards using a range of metal and wood type, and picture printing blocks. You will choose your papers and ink colour (the neons and metallics have been very popular), be shown how to ink up the press and how to typeset using a traditional composing stick. At the end of the evening you will have a range of your own letterpress products to take home. Over 12s only. Valid ID may be required. All materials will be provided. An apron will be provided, although clothes you don't mind getting messy are advised. Though the studio has disabled access, the press is operated while standing up and using a bit of elbow grease so please consider this when booking.
