Backyard Cinema have teamed up with Camden Market to bring you their very own outdoor summer film festival set across two screens. Sink into giant beanbags and lounge on deckchairs as you enjoy a selection of films, all served with fresh burgers, craft beer, cocktails and a decent helping of live DJs. Adventure through the alleys of Camden Market to find the intimate courtyard hosting the Cuban Screen stage. Here, you will find a more unusual range of indie flicks, moving documentaries and foreign language films.
Tonight’s offering is Noah Baumbach’s 2012 comedy drama, Frances Ha. Twenty-something New Yorker Frances (Greta Gerwig) is content pottering through life. That is, until and her boyfriend dumps her and best friend Sophie (Mickey Sumner) asks her to move out. Frances is forced to take charge of her future and follow her dreams. What follows is a monochrome adventure through Manhattan, which is as light and breezy as a walk in Central Park and just as refreshing. Wonderful stuff.
"If films were gestures, this one would be a perfectly timed shrug, with the smile to match." – The Telegraph
"With its swift, jaunty rhythms and sharp, off-kilter jokes, Frances Ha is frequently delightful." – The New York Times
