Backyard Cinema Main Stage Outdoor Screening: Pride

Funny, through-provoking and historically important; what more could you want?

Backyard Cinema have teamed up with Camden Market to bring you their very own outdoor summer film festival set across two screens. Sink into giant beanbags and lounge on deckchairs as you enjoy a selection of new releases, cult favourites and all-time classics. Based in Camden Lock Place, the main stage is the hub of entertainment before the screening serving fresh burgers, craft beer, cocktails and a decent helping of live DJs. Tonight’s offering on the huge screen is Pride. Directed by Matthew Warcus, Pride tells the story of 20-year-old closet gay, Joe, who hesitantly arrives in London from Bromley for his first Gay Pride march. He's taken under the collective wing of a group of gay men and lesbian Steph, who meet at flamboyant Jonathan and his Welsh partner Gethin's Soho bookshop. The rest, as they say, is history. "It’s a joyous film, full of love and warmth but unafraid to admit that with sticking out your neck comes struggle and sorrow." – Time Out "Pride will get viewers cheering while reflecting upon how far we have come in 30 years… and how far we have yet to go." – ReelViews Certificate: 15. Valid ID required. Runtime: 1 hour 57 minutes.
