Bandstand Concerts: Kakatsitsi

Encounter Africa via South East London

The Kakatsitsi are a group of master drummers, dancers and singers from the Ga tribe of Ghana. Their sound draws influence from the traditional chants and rhythms of their own tribe and from other West African cultures. Having previously performed at Glastonbury with the electronic outfit The Orb, the Kakatsitsi are a group that should not be missed – the fact that they are performing for free as part of the Horniman Museum's celebration of African culture is just the icing on the cake. The museum's galleries and exhibitions will also be open to visitors. This event is free and entry is on a first come first served basis, so it can't be guaranteed. You need to be registered to store the event information in your profile, but rest assured, we won't charge you a penny.
