When the Bank of England throws open its doors, you’d do well to take a look. The City building is historic, opulent and imposing. It’s everything you want in an edifice in other words. From the Court Room to the Committee Room, where the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee meets to determine the Bank Rate, there’s a whole lotta ogling to be done. After the tour, there’s a presentation on banknotes in the Museum Cinema with the opportunity to lift a genuine gold bar. Go on, you know you want to.
