Basement Tapes Presents: Bamboo + Lupo

Two new bands play their heady, synth-pop vibes

A monthly residency championing fantastic new bands, Basement Tapes is the place to go for hot new artists producing the best music on the scene. This week, they've got Bamboo and Lupo Bamboo: A sublime new project from Nick Carlisle (of Peepholes and Don’t Argue) and Rachel Horwood (of Trash Kit and Halo Halo) Bamboo's music is vivid and deeply poignant, locking into a magnetic attraction between between Rachel’s flawlessly resonant folk cadence and Nick’s pristine synth pop production. A very original duo with a sound-world very much their own, they are set for big things. Lupo: In the words of the NME Lupo's "Swirling strings and heady guitar tones create an atmosphere akin to the trippier experiments of The Beatles, but is more reminiscent of contemporary Britpop revivalists like Superfood." We're sold. See you down there. Over 18s only. Valid ID required.
