Gordon Ramsay’s Italian ristorante Union Street Café is offering an exclusive opportunity to discover one of Italy’s most famous exports – mozzarella. Join them for A Mozzarella Masterclass on Friday 30 September and enjoy an Italian experience to remember. Meeting at 9:15am at Kings Cross station, the group will be welcomed by Union Street Café’s Davide Degiovanni and Roberto Paterna before a short walk to the local family-run cheese factory, Carnevale. Upon arrival at Carnevale you’ll enjoy authentic Italian coffee and pastries during a short briefing on the day’s events. Then it’s onto the factory floor itself to discover the intricate world of cheese making. See how mozzarella and ricotta cheese is made during a special guided tour, and watch as the vats of cheese are prepared in front of you. With new found cheese knowledge on board, you’ll make your way to Southwark by taxi to enjoy a 3-course lunch with wine and coffee at Union Street Café, served at 12.15pm. Prepared with freshly made cheese from the morning, you’ll enjoy a starter of roast mozzarella with Mediterranean condiments, aubergine and ricotta Rigatoni, and a Sicilian dessert of Cannolo – filled with sweetened ricotta at the table. As lunch draws to a close at 2.30pm, guests will each receive a goody bag filled with treats from the Union Street Café team – including a whole Carnevale mozzarella, homemade cantuccini biscuits, recipe cards and an exclusive keyring entitling you to future discounts at Union Street Café. The mozzarella masterclass is priced at £80 per person, and will take place on Friday 30 September 2016, from 9.15am – 2.45pm. Taxi travel from the Carnevale factory to Union Street Café is included in the cost.
