240 films. 72 countries. 16 cinemas. 12 days. One festival: The BFI London Film Festival. Now in its 59th year, it is the jewel in the BFI's crown. Both the BFI and the BFI London Film Festival are what they say they are: British institutes. Here's your chance to get involved. Hot Sugar's Cold World is best described as an offbeat muso-travelogue. It follow Hot Sugar (aka Nick Koenig), an acclaimed electronica musician whose creative foresight has earned him the adoration of many a critic, who have gone as far as to hail him a modern day Mozart. In this film, Hot Sugar is dealing with a public break-up with his rapper girlfriend and doyen of social media, Kitty. This results in a soul-searching trip to Paris: there he draws inspiration from the city of love, chopping, screwing and looping his way through. As music flicks go, this is an artistically ambitious yet grounded insight into the creative process of an exciting artist. Over 15s only. Runtime: 85 minutes.
